Now there's an idea...  :D

Might just try it with the existing freezer space until I've got more space  8)

Looks like my afternoon is planned out, then !!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I've tried this, and it does work very well so long as you remember what's in the freezer.  Otherwise, you end up cooking 3 gallon batches of chilli in as many months.  I actually have to keep a freezer inventory, otherwise I have no idea what's in there.

Good for you, Peter!  Not only do you save loads of money, but there's nothing like having a homemade frozen meal ready when you've had a busy day - in our case, digging down the lottie.
Still glowing, still growing, still going strong!

The same is great for home made baby food when weaning - just freeze it in ice cube trays. WAY cheaper that all the bought jar things and much nicer for baby too!

Good on ya PeterR, I hope this helps others eat a more healthily. In our home there are just the two of us, and we do something similar, we buy berries etc and split them into just the right amount for two and freeze. We make turkey pies for two and freeze, the stews I find never make it to the freezer as we just eat a large one over two days. I make my own sausages and bacon which I vac rap and freeze, the same goes for steak I vac rap and let it cure for three weeks or so.

Home made sausage stew

Homemade sausages...

Cheers

 :)
Best Regards,

spud
