Been looking at various videos from this chap

Apart from no dig method he multisows plants, things like onions, peas and beetroot.  Basically you get slighly smaller veg but a higher density.

I might try it this year, looks a good idea.

Anyone used this method?

I've tried it with onions, works well. Clusters of two or three onions together spaced slightly further than normal if the were single plantings. Slightly smaller onions in the end, but we have no need for biggies!

I've done this routinely for things like salad onions, runner beans and early snap peas - for years. It's nothing new, I think I read about it in one of Joy Larkcom's early books

Yes I do onions,salad onions,beetroot, French beans-just 2 seeds for those usually. I find some things germinate better if they’ve got more seeds together,they must give off a pheromones or something to set the others off germinating even direct sown like parsnips & carrots seem to germinate better if not too thinly sown I find

I have sowed beetroots, onions, spring onions and leeks this way. Usually four seeds per module, except for spring onions where its up to ten. They have always done well, although the end product is usually smaller than individually sowed, but they are fine for kitchen use. I will be trying the same again this year, plus peas and herbs. Never tried dwarf French beans that way, but it has to be worth a try.

hello multi sowings nothing new I worked on a market garden were we used to sow lettuce onion cabbage and cauliflower with cluster seed that had to be singled out when they germinated then we got a new revolution single clay coated seed the old auto seeder couldnt cope with them it still sowed 3and 4 seed in each compost block( 10,000 per hour)  then we had to sit with a cotton bud and pick excess seed out till we got a new slide with smaller holes in   jezza
