Can someone remind me - when do bare root raspberry canes start appearing in the garden centres?
Ta.
-
most garden ctrs have canes on sale now
-
i know that the online retailers start delivering them from the start of october, so now basically :D
-
Can I piggy-back this thread?
The house I recently bought has some raspberry canes in the back garden. They're looking a bit poorly as the weather has turned.
Is there anything I should do with them or do they regenerate in spring?
Thanks!

Thanks everyone. I asked about canes at my local garden centre yesterday and the chap there said he though it was a bit early. Perhaps I should have asked someone else there.
jonewer - others will probably be able to identify your raspberries as either summer or autumn varieties if you tell them if there are any fruit on them now. Then they can advise on when and how to cut them back.
-
Anytime from now onward I'm expecting delivery in about 3 weeks
-
Tried another garden centre today - they said "sometime in November".

There seems to be a consistency in the replies - you'll have to keep trying other centres until you get the reply you want!
In my opinion it is still a little on the early side, I'm looking at replacing my summer ones with different varieties from quite a reputable dealer. They are saying mid to late October deliverery.
