Title: Shallots

I've got some shallots which says for autmn planting on the packet, so will be sticking them in this week.

My old dad always used to say.  "Plant on the shortest day and harvest on the longest."  Is ther any truth in this old saying  :!:

I think that was about garlic rather than shallots.

Dont shallots go in about febuary or is that just the bulb type ?    :roll:

My Dad had hardly even heard of garlic, never ate it and certainly never grew it  :lol:
