ok i have a question for you all

when you go out to buy herbs what herbs do you buy

now the reason for this question is im going to be to late to grow the other stuff for resale

so im going to be doing just herbs this year what i would like is some feed back on what to grow

any help would be great thanks

parsley, specially flat leaf varieties, basil (lots of), chives (tonnes of), coriander, thyme (loads) sage (ditto)  rosemary

ditto most of the others especially lots of mints some of the apple and pineapple mints are great in salads and oregano as well - I try and grow basil every year but as yet it fails every time - but parsley - this year its still going strong outside  due to mild weather - has anyone ever used myrtle in cooking? or grown blackcurrant sage :?:

Mint - to go with the lamb (and Pimms)

Parsley - the curly stuff

basil - to go with toms.

Dill - for fish and eggs

Oregano - for Italian dishes

Rosemary's a shrub so you can't do that this year

Chives - snip into all sorts of things (not deserts though)

That's about all I like  :D

Sage, parsley, rosemary, mint and chives for us. I have seen on here someone had difficulty getting hold of apple mint so could corner a market there.

I try not to have to buy herbs!  That said, in the winter and early spring I buy lots of leaf coriander and fenugreek for curries, lemon thyme if mine is completely dormant (it doesn't seem to dry as well as the normal stuff), and basil and chervil for salads.  Out of season, I normally just use dried rosemary, sage, marjoram and normal thyme, and hold out for the rest for summer treats.

Loads of flat leaf parsley and mint.  Rosemary, basil, bay, lemon balm, oregano, french tarragon, thyme, lemon thyme, dill, chives and fennel, just for starters. 8)
