did some boiled eggs for salad the other day and as i was cutting them i noticed this thin redy white strand in the egg white looked awful like a v thin  pale blooming wormy type  flimsy thing but only small and thin. what could it be realy put me off eggs and havent ate one since, id say it was only half an inch if that even. any ideas pls

Well I hate to say it but it could be a worm 

Do you worm your hens regularly ?

The gut worms can very occasionally crawl out of the digestive tract at the vent and find their way into the oviduct.

ew, i wormed them late last year and havent got round to buying some wormer yet as the guy i got them from gave me some, im going to get some now tho, wheres the cheapest place to buy , and the best wormer to get,  also do you think i should throw all the eggs away till it arrives. my fault as i should have got it sooner but was just getting round to it as a million things to do

It may just be a meat spot rather than a worm but do you know what they were wormed with ?

hi thanx aunt sally, im not to sure now but have seen flubavent whilst ive been looking for £13 odd, im going to order some. what do you think i should do with the eggs to be on the safe side till it arrives, should i chuck them as im worried it could do one of us some harm if it was a worm
