Hi, i've got three chicks on my lotty which are about 13 weeks old. The guy who i got them from gave me some good advice on keeping them and they are doing well, I am optomistically! checking for eggs but i know they will be a few weeks yet. they seem to be so easy to keep that I keep reading up on keeping chicks in case I am missing something. I keep seeing references to ACV, what is it and whats it for?
??
Any clues would be helpful
Thanks

Cider Apple Vinegar - available from feed merchants etc, not the supermarket stuff as that is refined and not as good for birds and horses. Don't put it in galvanised drinkers as it can breakdown the galvanising and poison the hens.

I put about 15ml in 5 litres of water every time I fill the water up which is most days. I just got a 5 litre polydrum for £9 from my feed supplier so that'll last ages. It also keeps algae build up down. If I put too much in they turn their beaks up and only drink from puddles
