well today ive taken apart a few pallets and a large 10 ft by 5 ft pallet used to transport atv's of my OH dad and ive sanded them all down so there nice and smooth , tomorrow ill be making a staging bench all its cost me is £10 on screws im also going to make a wooden tool chest as there is no room in the shed, ill upload some pictures tomorrow for you all to see :D :)

Sounds good. But for £10 that must be a lot of screws!!!
Then again, depends where they come from. I buy all of that sort of thing at Screwfix or Tool Station...

yes it is quite a lot i suppose got a few pack in a local nik nak shop then i got a pack of 50 from B&Q they were £7 nearly fainted when i seen the price! I havent had time to start my bench of so it'll be a project over the week when i finish work!

You could try screwfix direct. Although they are now owned by Been and Queue'd they work on trade prices to the public.

Just a quick update i've been a bit ill over the week so i didnt make much progress on the staging bench wasn't braving the weather :nowink:! So today i've come home and done the frame and to be honest im really proud about how it looks amazing what a few pallets can become ::) let me know what you think, when i come home tomorrow i'll be putting the slats on then sand it all down ::)

It's coming along Matt! :) Don't forget to put some diagonal bracing on there somewhere to help keep it rigid! ;)

Hello grannieannie I don't think it needs any more support to be honest it is really really rigid and I'll take the chance of not putting more support on I've just finished it now and it's not going move at all I've got faith in it I'll put some pics up soon thanks for the advice tho :)

I have a regular supply of pallets (thanks to the delivery guys at work) and need some greenhouse staging - best get my toolbox out :D :D

VegGirl7 my OH dad owns an atv centre in the hills in north wales so i get my pallets of him and they are really good quality as they transport like 1 tonne vehicles on so really good quality, enjoyed making it really gave me a nice break from just working all the time! i seen the idea of the internet and thought i want one of those :) good luck with yours if not you can come and collect this one so i can make another :D
