I decided that this year the only main crop spud I would bother with was Sarpo Mira as we get such a lot of blight, I tried 5 garden centres (by phone) and none had them so I have had to buy online or drive to Cheltenham and back, round trip of 80 miles :ohmy:

Bought them online ::)

We have had blight for the last two years or more.... mostly late. I found chopping the tops off the potatoes saves the crop without problems - just a huge heap of foliage to dispose of.  :(

I am aiming to grow more 1st and 2nd earlies and fewer main crop as my answer to avoiding the problem.

You wait - this year will be blight free (almost) ....... so I'm trying yet again with a small out-door tomato crop too.
