Oh dear ::)  I know you are moulting. but really ...

She's unconcerned of course and was just looking to see if I had grapes/corn/mealworms/a.n.other treat about my person, but I just had to share this picture  :lol:

I always think it looks very painful when you can see the new quills poking out of their few remaining feathers.

I wonder why they moult when the days are getting colder - you'd think they'd do it in the summer when it's hotter.

That's chickens for you.  Wait for the cooler days then moult  ::) 

They are a bit itchy I think, but not in pain.  There are plenty of dustbaths going on with blissful looks exchanged as the feathers fly  :)
