bigger the pot the better really (i would  personally go with at least 8"/9"), yes you should get fruit this year and yes they are sweet. i  would also position some pots full of soil close to them to put the runners in so that you've got more plants to grow or give away next year.
All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Strawberries don't fruit the first year - take the flowers off to get them good and strong. Plant in three pots and catch any runners that come out in other pots so that you have a good number of plants next year.

well they won't if you take the flowers off. Ideally the best time is to plant runners in position the previous september, but i would be surprised if you didn't get fruit this year come july if they are in a sheltered sunny spot in decent soil.

I grow Elsanta, they are gorgeous, fair size sweet and just lovely.  I get fruit from all my first yearers.  Although in your pics rubix they do look very small.  You are supposed to deflower or not let the plants flower/fruit  in the first year so you get supposedly more fruit the following year.  But never had a strong enough will power for that.  I put about 6 in a 3ft trough which is about 8" deep.

Look here
http://www.gardenaction.co.uk/fruit_veg_diary/fruit_veg_mini_project_february_2_strawberry.asp

and particulary this page which tells you about not burying the crown or planting the crown too deep.  Can't really tell from your pics but they look maybe a little deeply planted.  But its your judgement can't really see from pic.

There are some weeds with leaves pretty similar to strawberries (I think they're Potentilla types).  You need to get a field guide and have a close look; you may not be able to tell for sure until they flower.
