We have just hatched 23 chicks - one week old - what treatments do they need?

if the chicks are not poorly no treatment , just a warm/heated clean kept box/brooder with fresh chick crumb and water.

Thanks for the information about "no treatment now" - is there a standard preventative treatment that they will need in the future or is treatment only when needed?

Congratulations on hatching all the wee chicks.   

If by 'treatments' you mean medication, then you are probably already feeding them on chick starter food with medications in it.  Most food for chicks contains medicine to protect them from coccidiosis (cocci) which is the most common illness in little chicks.

Perhaps if you post the name of the food you are giving them, someone will be able to tell you whether that brand is medicated?

it is always wise to read up before hatching, however I am assuming you have the correct feeder, drinker and correct food. Are these chicks in a brooder or with a broody hen?
Vaccinations are costly and come in very large batches, they start being administered at day old so you should you have wished to vaccinate have missed the timing for some. Most back yard poultry keepers in the UK (different abroad if you are going to show birds) don't vaccinate but do all they can to minimise problems by using good animal husbandry methods and by having their birds registered with a good poultry vet.
