Converting lawn into veg patch
« on: January 11, 2007, 21:56 »
I have a 50x15 foot lawn which in my mind is just wasted ground.  My garden is one third veg patch and two thirds lawn.

Given that my hip is now officially k*******d, what would be the easiest way of going about conversion?  Should I use a turf cutter thingy and then rotovate?  If so, what would I do with the turf, isn't it good to rot it down somehow?

Over to you, oh wise ones.

yes thats the right way to do it,stack it all on a pile then in a year or 2 it will be loam
feed the soil not the plants

option 1 dont bother get some line and a tape measure n some pegs a sprayer a dollop of roundup . mark it out neatly spray wait n have help to dig the edges out then rotavate the lot . les werk sooner ready  waiting time ... 3 weeks .option 2 taking up grass  a day or 2 with a knacked hip .  loads sweat rotavate n then wait to put back loam from original lawn 2 yrs .....

I like the way you think muntjac.  Always take the line of least resistance.  Roundup it is.  Then get a little man in to rotovate.

They're at it again
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
