Thomson Morgan tom offer
« on: June 08, 2009, 16:18 »
75% off Tom plants, £2.49 for 5 plants. I ordered them as you can never have enough tomatoes and although it initially added on p&p when it came to paying i was only charged £2.49. Sounds like a good deal to me

It also added the p&p on for me too but when it came to giving out card details for the payment the p&p was not charged

i also sent off for this offer, they did charge me p&p but still thought offer reasonable £6.19 for 5,and a strain i have never had before.they finally arrived two days ago, from guernsey.
they arent worth putting in the ground.the leaves were yellow, black and opaque green.the plants themselves were shriveled and curled.i have complained to t+m and as yet have had no reply.
anyone else had a problem?

You can have to many tomato plants believe me!  2 years ago I had 200 growing in the poly and greenhouse and gave loads away too as I ran out of room!

But I'm being good this year, I only have 55!!!

The year I had the 200, I froze over 80lbs of chopped tomatoes for soups and sauces, then early in the winter the chest freezer in the garage broke down and I didn't notice for ages as I didn't go out there much!  You can imagine the mess inside, sloppy chopped toms in bags swimming around with 40lb of chopped runner and frech beans!!!  Yuk!   :(

I grow them all from seeds poppie, most of which I save or swap with other peeps on here!  Cant remember the last time I bought a packet of tomato seeds.
And mine are beginning to catch up now.  Because I spend so much time with the chickens or trying to help Brian with his shed building, everything gets left for way too long in the greenhouse in 3" pots!!  The Toms have only been in the polytunnel a few weeks, but some of them are fruiting nicely now!
