Picked up some peat pots earlier in the season and pricked seedlings out into them. I'm now told that I should have soaked them for 2 days before use. Do you agree?

Hmm and I shall sit making paper pots this year and use those next spring.

They say you should soak them before, because when you water the seeds/seedlings in, if you have not then the peat takes the water from the compost.

However, I have never bothered to soak in the past - you just need to keep an eye on them, as they do tend to dry out quickly.

Soaking for 2 days sounds good.

Just that they'll fall to bits when you try and plant in them!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
