I've just sown two dozen seeds into a 10" pot. Kitchen windowsill until they show, then outside into a cold frame until 9" high. Then open ground.

Started mine a couple of weeks ago in an plastic tray I bought mushrooms in. Once they're all germinated and standing upright they'll go into a deep trough filled with compost and manure pellets, spaced out a few inches apart. When they're pencil thick and the weather is good they'll go in the ground.

Mine went in a seed bed a few days ago, covered with black plastic to increase warmth and protect from frost.  I inspect them daily.

Cheers,  Tony. :)
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I had considered sowing mine slightly later than usual this year as I had a bad infestation of allium leaf miner last year. I was hoping that this would help avoid attack from the first batch of eggs (laid March-April apparently). And then I'll plant them under enviromesh, hopefully avoiding the second infestation (August-October). But on second thoughts they are unlikely to be attacked while sitting in my cold frame anyway so perhaps I'll just sow them today in lockdown!

Sowed mine a couple of weeks ago, and because the packet had a 'sow before' date of Jan 2020 I saved myself the usual faff of trying to sow them individually by sowing much more thickly in case the viability was low.

Yup, you've guessed it - now got a lot of faffy thinning out to do!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I sowed mine 16th feb and I do multi sow  roughly 4/5 to a module and plant them like that no thinning out and we do ok. We don't need massive leeks just plenty of them, 38 modules x average 4 150 plus leeks.

here's mine from today
