I am not questioning your observations, I am questioning the act of projecting from a small sample of observations to a population, which is (like it or not), a logical fallacy.

The key word in your above statement is "assume". ASSUME makes an ASS of U and ME.

Basing your philosophical arguments on an article written using the wisdom of crowds (aka the view of the mob), especially one that by its own admission needs additional citations for verification may not be a good substitute for thinking.
Obviously the original post regarding a family was cited as an example of an observed common behaviour - if it was exceptional the tone and comments would have been different.

To stay on topic, I just returned from a nearby convenience store where I buy my morning paper. The guy in front of me was carrying out a loud conversation on his mobile whilst he bought his fags. So utterly rude, but seems to be the norm on the housing estate where the store is located. I asked the assistant if she found it off-putting but the answer I got was that they are all at it and it's the way they are brought up at home

How do these people ever manage to develop personal relationships?

There's an App for that.

It's a shame that there isn't an app to teach basic good manners!
There is and it's called a good sl-app!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

xx
May I introduce you to Mr Superslug and family.
