I am an avid family historian. I have researched my family surname back to the 1650's. A direct line!! Currently all my records are recorded within MS W***. Twenty + full pages of data. Births, deaths, marriages, residences, occupations etc, etc are all included. To make it much easier of when I am showing other family members these details, I was thinking maybe adding names only to a family tree layout would be beneficial. Does anybody have knowledge please of where I can download a "free" Family Tree template? MS W***, Ex*** or whatever format is no problem. Anything of whereby I don't require internet access to display. Thanks.

I got a bit excited there Glosterboy, as I thought you were going to point me in the direction of a free format, which would have been terrific. I have also traced back one line (my Dad's ) into the 1600ss. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to link with ancestors like this.

I'm sorry that I can only offer you the format suitable for sharing with others that I use at a (longish) glance),  hand drawn over a four large sheets of paper taped together, with only dates and names on it. All the other info is kept in files, along with, where possible, the relevant certificates or other data. Not very fancy at all.

Hope someone else has something suitable to offer

Me too! All my info is in files and I also have the basic tree drawn out. It would be far too big if all the info was on 1 piece of paper.
