My sweet peppers are growing in pots in the greenhouse, and something has made 1 little hole in some of them and got in.  
I cut them open, and there was no critter inside, but neither were there any seeds.  Whatever it was had eaten all the seeds and climbed out !!
Would this be a slug or snail (have noticed a trail on the bench) or is it something else. :?:  :?:  Thanks  Mrs Bouquet

My peppers, also in the greenhouse have no seeds this year, but they are still quite small. I thought it might be because of the poor summer.

Thanks Suzi.  Maybe, the little hole was something nibbling at the outside.
Now I know your's are seedless, I don't feel so bad.  
Thats the good thing about this forum isn't it, just sharing experiences with other folk.

This one hole around the calyx is usually some caterpillar with not necessarily too much frass or too much damage to the fruit or seed eating, that indeed can be something completely different.

Parthenocarpic fruit is rather common in all peppers, not necessarily completely seedless sometimes just with a small number of seeds and often with smaller fruit size than the rest, it is common in secondary fruit set - if they at all set -  if you don't do green harvest. Or due to temperature - as Sozi rightly suggests - and other unfavourable factors at pollination time.

Of course, slugs do holes, too and a few other bugs. :evil:
