I sowed mine on 6th April in modules. They have been in a coolish but frost free back porch. No sign of anything yet. Should they be showing by now? I know brassicas don't like it too warm, but have I gone too far in the other direction?
They are the variety Seven Hills.

:Same here also my runner beans are no shows as well

Both runner beans and sprouts took about 12 days in my greenhouse in paper pots.
I have a big tray of parsnip seeds in paper pots that have not come up yet and that's been 18 days now

Did you have any guidance on the packet when you sowed things? Back of the packet often gives some idea.

They are from Real Seeds and packaging is minimal and nothing on their website. Can't find anything in my veg bible (Grow your own vegetables by Joy Larkcom) either. This is the first year I am growing them, not having had sufficient space before. Hoping for some guidance from those who have tried before.

I'm not doing sprouts this year and so don't have a seed packet to hand that tells me. But I remember that I bought them on in a slightly warmer situation than you describe and they came on in about 14 days but were not fit to prick out till well after 21. Mind we are finding things very slow up here this year even stuff that people have in greenhouses. I think it was the sudden change in weather.
Tis a bit to early for runner beans. Beans to me mean May - before that they do need a bit of pamper as they are slightly warmer weather creatures.
Parsnips can take for ever to show through - I was going to sow again this spring but they have suddenly decided to show though are now holding back in the monsoon season.

I think youre being a little impatient, also brassicas dont need to be inside at all-coolish to you probably means tropical to them!
Id put them outside and probably give it a while longer.

Mine started sprouting after a few days, but they were on the windowsill under cling film.

Sprouts came up after seven days, outside in the garden in modules
Haven't planted runners yet as too early imho ;)

Started mine off in the heated propagator and then took them straight out to the greehouse. Runners are in the unheated greenhouse as I do not want to rush them.

Sowed my brussels 5 days ago and put them on the windowsill and they've already germinated. They'll be going off to the unheated greenhouse later in the week. Same with my kale.

Sowed mine in a seed tray 14 march. They wern't long at all in showing. I've just potted them up into individual pots a couple of days ago and now they are off like lightning. Wish I could say the same about my toms.
