The long necks are seedless (the seeds are at the fat end, so picked young they are like a less watery courgette, or I used them in a moussaka instead of an Aubergine

When they're bigger leave them on to ripen and they age to a nice sweet winter squash that stores very well. I only used the last one up a couple of weeks ago!

I'll have a gurggle and see if they're going cheap anywhere - if I don't find any can I get back to you.

I must admit Im tempted to do the same as that chap in the video and hang them over my 8' sunken patio (or at least it should be a patio by then) That wouldn't solve the original problem though as it's not the space I was thinking of
