Has anyone tried gluing patches onto the green reinforced type of polytunnel with any success? I have tried all sorts of tape, including Gorilla tape that doesn't stick when its wet despite what they say. I have a seam that has been sewn the wrong way across the length of the tunnel and catches the water running off the top, I want to glue a strip over the top of it to try to get it to last longer, its only a year old. I can see that the thread has started rotting already and will not last long.

Just a thought as it is not a rip or hole yet ...... bathroom sealant into the gap would/should stop the water getting to the seam ?

 stringbags you say you've tried all sorts of tape have you tried poly tunnel tape? its a its a clear jointing repair tape we use it on our polythene cover repairs but I don't know if it will repair the green poly tunnels it mite be worth asking before you buy if this will do the job we buy ours from LBS I know we used to repair lorry sheets with a heavy  glue some years ago but not sure what we used

The silicone sealant route ought to work. Best to cut a strip of plastic or something, the width required, then spread  a layer of the stuff over one surface and stick it on.

I would second Rowlandwells on the use of poly tunnel repair tape. I use this on both my tunnels and it lasts for years, seals and sticks immediately and is quick to apply. Silicone can take 24 hours to 'go off' and be effective so if you had strong winds in the meantime could unstick.
