Just back from Brigg livestock auction where I got a year old black Pekin with her 4 month old chicks.....They will have a run and henhouse to themselves..........

I will have a look at the Heckington chat, and see what its about.
I have a couple of pics of the new arrivals and will shrink them and put them on.
But.... I said earlier "hen and her 4 month old chicks". The chicks are not 4 months old, there are 4 chicks and they are a month old. Except they are not. That was a guess. I think probably nearer 2 weeks. Someone may be able to discern their age better from the photographs..
I think the Polit Bureau has decided that they will be named after the ladies in "Little Women". Except I am sure one at least is a cockerel.. If it indeed is, then their plan lies in ruins.
I wanted to call them Korma Kiev Hotpot and  Madras but I was overuled, even though my names are all more directly associated with chickens ( of all flavours)
I tried to make amends by suggesting April May June and Julie, but this too was met with derision.
In the meantime I am undertaking a significant refurbishment of the chicken run.
If I am not careful, or at least more tactful I may have to get the doghouse ready for imminent occupation too.
