ok cleared the big freezer out and i found a carrier bag with 18 lb bags of brambles and about a stone of viccy plums and i though rather than make a batch of each id combine the 2( have got bramble and also plum jam in sep pots) anybody tried this combo? any tips for making it

Haven't tried it MJ but I'd figure that neither has got a lot of pectin to give a good set. I'd suggest some lemon juice, Certo or Blue Circle to help set.

Should work. I always take black pepper on strawberries, melon or papaya. Salt and pepper on fresh pineapple. Ground ginger on melon is good too.
