Title: bramble n plum jam

ok cleared the big freezer out and i found a carrier bag with 18 lb bags of brambles and about a stone of viccy plums  and i though rather than make a batch of each id combine the 2( have got bramble and also plum jam in sep pots) anybody tried this combo? any tips for making it  :wink:  :lol:

Haven't tried it MJ but I'd figure that neither has got a lot of pectin to give a good set.  I'd suggest some lemon juice, Certo or Blue Circle to help set.

yups . someone told me to add a teaspoon curry powder to plum jam  apparantly it puts a real zing to the sweetness of the plums  :shock:

Should work. I always take black pepper on strawberries, melon or papaya.  Salt and pepper on fresh pineapple.  Ground ginger on melon is good too.

That is a big freezer.
I'd go with ginger personally - good with rhubarb

its a big chest freezer 6ft long 3ft wide . big enough for a whole fallow deer lolo, thanks for the ginger tip .....yumyum
