autumn sown broadbeans and shallot
« on: December 06, 2010, 07:57 »
No matter whereever you live in UK, autumn sown broadbeans are a disgrace I think.
Went to the plot yesterday to see 4-5 completed blackened flopped and died, 4-5 have just flopped and the remaining 10 standing and waiting for the next frost to "complain and die"  :).

Question on shallots (griselle)
put in looooooooong time ago but no sign of life/sprout. is this normal?
One kid is handful. Two kids.... Example for chaos theory. Hats off to my mum who managed three...

I covered mine with fleece cloches :tongue2: 8) ::) so they are ok  but if the temperature goes down to below -10c then I shall swear!!!

It all depends what you put into the ground, to what you get out
