Why or even how do onion sets end up upside down? I planted them as per Mr Harrisons guide and two days later 25percent were upside down with the wispy stalk down in the soil.

You'll find that if you leave the stalks showing, or don't net them, the birds love to play with them.

They were planted upside down maybe    Sometimes it is difficult to spot which way up they should go, or so the children at school always maintain when some grow, some don't .... and then are shown to be upside down
