Title: Plant labels for free
Post by: richyrich7 on February 20, 2007, 21:47
Thought I might share this with you all, I make plant labels out of old tomato purée tubes
1) Cut off both ends and split up the middle with a pair of scissors.
2) Wash out the old puree.
3) Smooth out the tube with the back of a spoon.
4) Cut into labels.
What I really like about them is that if you use a biro, long after the inks faded and gone you can still read them.

Nicer when the ink has weathered off....i use ice lolly sticks!  Usually have a supply in the house for the summer so just pinch a few.

I cut up margarine tubs, it's suprising how many you can get out of one tub. They don't like biro much though, so I use a soft 4B pencil.

Yes, but you can't rub it off and recycle what you've recycled!

you can sometimes remove those markers with lighter fluid or white spirit
