Red cabbage
« on: May 26, 2013, 22:16 »
Help!
A really kind neighbour at my allotment gave me 6 red cabbage he'd started off.
I planted them last weekend and when I went today found that something? Slugs? Had eaten most of the leaves!
 >:( so cross. I feel so bad that he might have wasted these on me, should I have covered them? And can anyone recommend a good slug pellet?
Many thanks
Mrswashi

You need to net them against pigeons! If you net them then you can use the cheap ordinary slug pellets, cos wildlife won't be able to eat the pellets.

My red cabbage seeds failed to arrive, emailed company who swear they went out and will dispatch again. Not what the amazon feedback suggests.

Red cabbage free plot then for us this year. Not happy at all with the seller.
Teach me to read the reviews and feedback next time

Thanks mum they will go in when they arrive and it will be fingers crossed.

Usually we end up topping 11lb for red cabbage so slightly smaller may not be a bad thing

I gave up with my original order and ordered from premier seeds, ordered yesterday, arrived today that's more like it. They are now in the soil and still no sign of my other order
