Ive been given some blackberry cuttings, all doing nicely

Now my question is...
Both sides of my plot have got a clapped out old leaning wooden fence with some chicken wire across it.
I really dont want to buy any more fencing at the mo, so could I use the blackberry cuttings as a hedge? (keeping them well pruned obviously)

I thought we'd abolished the death penalty. Don't you get deported to Australia now?
