Just been out to the garden becaus I forgot to bring the feeder in and there were about 20 slugs hanging around it if I pick them up the slime is very dificult to wash off my hands. what I'm asking is can the chickens eat them? I could harvest them every night and use them as free treats. Or would the slime stop them from eating them?

some chickens love them but others ignore them. mine usually don't bother which I am pleased about as slugs are a source of lung worm.

Some people sprinkle used coffee grounds around their plants. The caffeine gives slugs and snails a heart attack.

My girls love slugs but generally only the smaller ones.  However, if I stamp on a big slug or a snail the girls pick up the remnants and run off with a disgusting mouthful of goo and a big grin.  My hostas have never looked so good!

Mine seem to prefare small ones too. But i do enjoy them playing, football, basketball, tennis and rounders with the big fellas. While i enjoy the salads that are left
