seed orders
« on: October 30, 2019, 18:45 »
have you ordered all your seed requirements for next season yet do you think your seeds have gone up in price from last year and are you selective in where you buy your seed or do you stick to the same supplier every year because you get good service or have you dumped you usual supplier in favour of a new supplier

do you stick to the same varieties or do you go for new varieties or even  buy organic seed or buy heritage seed ?

Not bought my seeds yet but have a basket on eBay Premier seeds which when complete will be activated. I pay £0.99 per pack and it has not changed much over the last four or five years... best seed supplier out there in my opinion.

We put our seed oders in Sept and the seed is now in me seed box!

We get ours through our fed, use Kings and price seemed about the same.
I am going to buy some from Premier Seeds come January.

I don't buy that much seed these days.  I save my own, swap with others and belong to a couple of seed circles and the Heritage Seed Library.
I look at a few sites including Real Seeds, Seeds of Italy, D.T. Brown  and Baker Creek in the US for new things and things that are difficult to save or don't last but only buy 2 or 3 packets a year.
Our allotment site isn't big enough to make a collective order worthwhile.

Premier also give free postage and a discount of 20% on orders of more than 5 packs. I cannot fault them get enough seed in the small package deal to last two years for most average gardens.
