Providing Water on Allotments – Rainwater Harvesting

Many allotment sites do not have the benefit of mains water. Rainwater harvesting and storage is the solution adopted by Elizabeth Way Allotments, Coventry. Many thanks to David Butterfield for sending the information and photographs.

I can testify to the fact that Bocsh battery operated water pumps really do work,.
I have recently purchased one and I am using it to draw water from a large pond, I am moving the water approximatly 65 mtrs without any trouble whatsoever the only downside is you really need two batteries as they only last around 25/30 minutes but as they are capable of drawing 2000ltrs per hour it should satisfy most people
