Our new girls arrived on Sunday!!

12 beautiful Brown Lohmann hens (destined originally for battery farming) - well they're pretty free now and just getting used to it!!

They were completely bewildered by the worms I threw in - no idea they could eat them! An the rain - well - it was funny, but a bit sad as they just couldn't seem to understand what was going on!
They've been in small cages in a big barn since they were big enough to be sexed so they're quite docile girls - unlike out last lot of rampaging misses! They seem to be getting on alright so far too.

No names this time as we can't really tell them apart! But they are 'The Laydees' to me

Well they have had a lucky escape from the battery farm life then.

Lucky Laydees. They look lovely. I am sure they will soon get used to worms and their uses.
