I actualy agree with the settlers for once, theres little point picking a fight with parish council over this, because someone else above them can refuse to renew the lease for everyone.

I agree
Although the legal position is clear - You may keep chickens by the law of the land.
The site is obviously not a statutory site as it is owned by a third party who, on a whim, can withdraw the lease renewal.
