Well, finally got some pics taken of the new allotment!

Thought I'd share a few with you, as you can see it is a lovely plot, soil is brilliant, and not too many perrenial weeds, though Mare's tail appears to be a slight problem in some corners.

Am digging out as much root etc as I can, health and weather permitting

Looking back up the plot from the shed end. Asparagus bed at my feet, nice bit of spinach, still havestable.

Nicely dug bed Squiffy. I actually didn't go down to the plot yesterday because it rained - but sent the old man to pick the week's veg!!!

Went down yesterday lunchtime for the first time for a week, due to inclement weather and the old bod, still looks ok and got that first bed almost finished (I can only do about an hours digging and then have to stop due to the old MS fatigue).Will have it finished this lunchtime and then on to the next bed!  

A couple of the old guys came up ad said what a good job I was doing, which was encouraging  

Now I need to order my seeds etc and also takle the weed covered gooseberry bushes and prune the blackberries........

Thanks guys, I have to pick my days, will be down there for an hour today. Have completed the first bed with some help from Mrs Squiffs and have now started on the second  :shock:

Took time out to prune out the over grown Blackberries and yank out all the weeds around the bed. Have got some new wire to re-tie in the new canes, so will do that probably tomorrow.

Must say the weather has been very kind at present, and if I can keep this up should have the whole allotment dug in annother couple of weeks, then can get the manure load in and on two of the three beds
