Runner beans question.

Hi,

I have my runners growing well in 3" pots,  should I  plant outside now or is it still early? They are under a cloche at the moment but nice and strong?

i'm in east anglia and mine went out this week, temperatures are looking good over night

Make sure you cover them if the temperature drops too far overnight - they will sulk ...

Thanks for the heads up, I am going to leave them as long as pos, they are  not out of hand, in fact only 6-8 inches high so a few days won't hurt from your comments. I'm just keen to get more stuff in now :-)

Mine went out today as well because they were getting stupidly tall. Next year I won't start them as early! Another runner bean related question. I damaged a couple of the growing tips. Will the plant put out a side shoot which will in effect become the main shoot or am I screwed?

They are almost 2 foot tall and trying to get them to my allotment via bike was tricky! it was just the tip that snapped on two of them. if the slugs don't get them then hopefully they will grow
