Leeks in cat litter tray
« on: February 26, 2013, 10:43 »
Hi, I've just sown some leeks in a cat tray but am not sure whether to leave on cold window sill or warm one!  Also, do I need to cover with clear plastic bag to help germination? Please help!

COLD !!!

I always sow them in deep pots as the are deep rooted plants.

Covering with a clear bag will help retain the moisture until they germinate. You won't have to worry  about the watering issue.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I hope the cats are no longer using it

A bit early too I think? I use the same planting method but in March. Tip originally from DD I seem to remember.
