Title: norfolk blue spuds

hi ya  :)has any one come across the norfolk blue potatoe, i used to stay over at a freinds house in the seventies up near brandon his dad grew these spuds that were a purple- blue couler they were like a first early you could just rub the skins of they were very tastey the soil up there was very loamy like peat, i doubt if they would grow in my clayey fliny ground, any one seen or heard of these.................pete

I googled this and one of the top results was from this forum - last time you mentioned these!  :lol:

The Norfolk Blue might have been a local name and they might have been or still be grown more widely under another name. I've heard lore from round here where Ilive that there used to be a local blue potato, but I've never been able to find anything on the internet about it.
