HELP
vine weevil has decimated my strawberry plants.
years ago i used armatillox to get rid of them but after dashing off and getting a bottle of the stuff I find that the formula isnt  on the container any more. what do we use now to get rid of this pest...spent the morning picking grubs off roots and feeding the robin via bird table. looks as though this years strawbs will be rationed.

I use Nemasys Nematodes Vine Weevil Killer. Ideally it should be applied twice a year. Once in Mar/Apr and again   Sept/Oct temperature permitting. I know it is a little late but if you can find them that easily I would pull the plants up, wash the roots and replant in fresh compost.

Good Luck  :)

As far as I know Armillatox hasn't changed they're just not allowed to sell it as a pest killer ( too much research & money too prove results) but it will still do the job if you can remember the application rate. I still have an old booklet that used to come with it in my hut. I'll look it out later today and post the dilution ratio for you.
But you can buy a Vine Weevil killer from the garden centre I think Bio make it.

Dilution rate is 500:1 for vine weevil at 3 litres per squared meter. So 20ml in 10L.
And it's Bayer that makes Provado Vine Weevil killer. It does work but it's an expensive way!
Hope that helps :)
