Can I compost ground elder green bits
« on: May 17, 2014, 10:35 »
I have got a new veg garden which is a disaster at the moment due to ground elder ,nettles and brambles. Its going to be a long process to get it right but in the mean time  can I put the green bits of ground elder in my Darlek compost bins?
Taken over neglected veg garden at new home. Enemy number 1 Ground Elder. Then there is the furry terror - bunnies - to contend with!
Made a start have beds established but moved in too late for serious planting. We shall see what 2015 brings.

I'd leave them out in the sun to kill them first though, otherwise they can make roots  ::)

I would burn all of it or put it in the council bin.  This is a big no-no near your compo bin.  It is the spawn of satan!
