I have seven hens and in 6 hours they have laid eight eggs.

I guess 6 hens laid 1 egg each and the other miraculously laid 2. A double yolker that managed to separate into 2 separate shells!!!
Who can tell with chickens
I assume they are very young hens as their laying frequency is unpredictable in the early days!

No they are no longer young ladies, they are all around 18 months old so have no excuses as they should know what they are doing!
One of them must have been over zealous!

Egg No 1 should have been laid the previous day but wasn`t and egg No 2 caught up with it.
You get the same scenario with buses !

When our last batch of birds were laying daily, I had two occassions when there was one more egg that the number of hens.
