Hi

I have been given a tub of chicken pellets, can anyone tell me what veg its best used on and when to the best time of year to use it?

I use mine mostly on the brassicas, I rake it in as Im planting, even dribble a few pellets into the planting hole, and then as a top dressing that's raked in - every 6 weeks or so.
I have hungry sandy soil, you may not need to add them as often as that  ;)

Anything that has lots of leafy growth rather than root crops should appreciate them. Like mum, I always trickle a few into the planting hole of my brassicas and add them to a lot of my container grown stuff (but not carrots and parsnips).

If you make your own compost you can add them to it as they work a bit like those compost activators...but a lot cheaper.
