Title: Freecycle Plants / Children
Post by: polly nator on July 17, 2008, 09:11
There's been a good thread bout Freecycle recently. I have used it very successfully for about 18 mths. There is a big demand for seedlings. I discovered this when I offered all my spares which were left after supplying friends and family with courgettes, aubergines and tomatoes. I received about 25 requests. It was interesting that several had children who were getting interested in gardening and wanted their own plots and plants. So I would recommend passing on spares this way especially if they are used to motivate young gardeners.

I agree, it's good to share plants. We have a good group of Freecyclers and the sharing of tomato plants, courgettes etc has been a useful way of getting rid of unwanted plants. We invariably grow too many  :D

I don't think you can Freecycle children - they have strict rules regarding livestock.

Thank heavens it wasn't just me thinking that you couldn't put your children on freecycle

A lot of freecycle groups actually allowing animals and livestock. The implementation of this rule is down to the local team.

LOL!  I can see the ad now:

"OFFER: teenager (durham)

I have one teenage boy to offer; good for washing dishes and hoovering but prone to clumseyness and a bad attitude.

must collect in person.

I agree to the fair usage policy....."
