As it says on website birds love them especially blackbirds. Make sure they are fully netted as the blackbirds will eat the lot before you know it. one small opening in the netting and they will be in.

I hope to grow them in tubs so protecting them from birds should not be too difficult.
The blueberries I have bought don't seem to have a lot of taste.. perhaps it is just me, but they don't seem to be very acid or sweet. The birds probably enjoy the juiciness especially if water is not easily available.

They always make a patio or garden very attractive as well, especially in the autumn, when the leaves make fabulous colour!

We actually brought one inside for the conservatory, and apart from grabbing berries every morning, it didn't look half bad as well!

Blueberries aren't too tricky to grow - just plant in ericaceous compost, water regularly if it gets hot/dry and protect from birds. Give it a feed in the spring with some ericaceous plant fertiliser and that's it!

We've had ours in the ground for about 4 years now. It looks like one has died off...(probably thanks to MrsWhiteRabbit pouring wee on it) but the others are still going strong.

The actual berries might be smaller, but they're much more tasty and zingy
