Just wait. Sweetpeas aren't really into heated propogators.

Thanks for advice - I can be patient!

Tomorrow?? Tomorrow??

I would love to find some extra long pots for Sweet Peas ...

I got some plastic-bag pots last year, which were tall enough, but I didn't like them.  Fiddly to fill, and the tops flopped over (curable by filling them brim full I suppose) and the water didn't get to some of them as a result, and they died :(

Folk have told me that their newspaper pots last from Autumn until plant-out time, but I'm sceptical ...

So any advice on deep pots would be great.

By the by, the newspaper pots that I did make last year (for Sweetcorn et al) were perfect.  Only about 2" dia, but a good 6"-8" tall :)

I've found paper-pots reliable for all sorts of things... where ever possible I use them as it saves on potting compost, takes up less room than 3" pots, reduces root disturbance and, if need-be, you can always pot on the seedlings that have successfully germinated.

Sweet peas could go several to a 5" pot but then you'd need to plant them in groups... I guess it is all a matter of preference.

My peas did brilliantly in paper pots last year.  ;)

Top tip with sweet peas is to soak them in water overnight before planting them or putting them. I've always do it and have had a 89-90% success rate every year. Occasionally i shave off a little of the tough outer skin but that's not really needed.
