Bit of a shoddy job there Gavin. How do you expect it to even get a second glance when you have clearly failed to point the slabs on your path  ::)
"Your first job is to prepare the soil.  The best tool for this is your neighbor's motorized garden tiller.  If your neighbor does not own a garden tiller, suggest that he buy one."

Hey Kergan... Gotta leave some space for the weeds to grow!! also mortar costs money and I generally only do FREE... almost anyway..

The only costs involved with the plot for infrastructure are £60 shed, £10 for some flags, £10 for scaffold planks, £20 for GH window vent, £10 Screws nails etc.  and £35 garden tools. Total £145  8)

Everything else has been from skips (I always ask) or been donated by knocking on and asking when stuff is seen to be unused.. e.g. Building sites for security panels and timber etc..

Gutted...  :(  only got a 3rd... but the winner is my neighbour and all her veg is really growin well and looks good. She was lucky - got her planting done in a 2 week hot period before the cold spell..   But I'm not bothered as I'm not in it for the trophy as I only found out 4 days before judging that the competition existed!!

Your plot looks fantastic and well done on the 'Third'
I must admit it does seem a little early for allotment judging but each site have different ways of doing things.
To do it this early means that you can see the overall state of the plots without it being hidden under loads of veg and fruit (If you are lucky)
The fruits of success come from hard work!
