I have seen DD's version but just wondered what other ways there are my peas only grow to 3/4 ft so it wont need to be high looking for inspiration

DD is the pea God so just do as he does - it's also the easiest, cheapest and simplest!!

Kelvedon wonder dont grow to high do they?

They are Kelvedon Wonder in my photos!

They'll grow to about 18"-24".

DD the Stokesley seed you sent me are doing well - a bit later than anticipated as the plot was not quite ready. They are about 6" high now. Got some in the home garden for seed and some at the plot. Kept a bit of seed in case of failures!! Thanks again for sending them.

Hi yes I did mean 3- 4 feet that will teach me to try and type a question whilst trying to cook dinner !! yes I know DD is the pea god I do follow what he does and I have done me peas they way he does his just looking at alternatives

Ive got some growing the way DD does his and a row done with bamboo canes stuck in at varying angles.

I do what DD does since the little beasts won't cling to wiring, netting, etc so its easiest to simply fence them in with string and posts. I also add a few branchy dead twigs among the rows to give them a bit more support.

I grow my peas up Stock netting ,which in 1 yard high and is made of 1/8" wire by 4" squares it is suported with bamboo canes .most people on the allotments use this method,

I'm using canes with a lot of string tied around for them to climb up. Unfortunately the wind snapped a lot of the peas so I've direct sown a lot more in there, and also put up a wind barrier to give them more shelter til they get a bit bigger.

I do this too though it helps if your row's straight! I can't plant in straight rows to save my life.

Mine are sort of straight. I simply space the main support posts out a wee bit further so that the string 'fencing' can easily accomodate strays, etc.

i like stock netting too, easy to get the peas off at the end of the year, and stiff enough not to sag under the weight. Sadly all mine is over in Derry rather than Manchester!
