Never heard that before.

Not used growbags for years, but mine used to go in when about 6" high.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Mine go in B&Q buckets, but I don't quite fill then to the top as I'm a bit tight  with money.

mine go in the flower buckets from Morrisons. Someone gave me that tip last year on here (wish I could remember who)
You get about 8 for £1 and are normally under the flower stand or just ask as they have loads. I only use growbags if I can get a good deal.

Pot on to a larger pot about 1.5" to 2" greater diameter as soon as roots start appearing at the bottom of the existing pot.

My Toms got to about 20cm / 3 pairs of true leaves (plus some little ones "just-coming") at the point I repotted them to 4.5". (Sown 15-Feb, Pricked out to 3" pots on 28-Feb, moved to 4.5" pots on 04-Apr)

If you plant them into grow bags before they flower they will use the rush of nutrients to grow leaf and stem. When they are in the growbags do not give extra feed until they have set the first truss, for the same reason.

If you are pushed for space I would not worry too much.

Sorry got carried away repotting.
 7.5 is 10" pot 25.4 cm
and I have some 10 ltr 11" pots.  27.9cm that I grow them in as they are to hand.
They are Black Sankey at B&Q.
I notice the sankey site advertises 5 ltr pots as for Toms and it says they are 23cm  or 9.05"

These people are good have ordered twice from them very quick and efficient

Look at square pots I have some of these:

And

Poly pots I have some of these an' all.

I have found Kays Discount Garden Supplies have good prices for pots.

Best of luck with trying to find anything on their web site, which is useless, but only to expected because their paper catalogue is just as disorganised, and lacking in pictures, information as to dimensions, etc.

Most economical purchase seems to be to buy a "case", but most cases don;t indicate how many they contain ...

For example Sankey Traditional Pots  (robust type, not flimsy plastic one-use-only type)

100 x 8cm/3" = £5.35

100 x 12.75cm/5" = £12.29

Ive read that as 100 of 8cm/3" pots at £5.36  or larger size is 100 of 12.75cm/5" pots at £12.29
so both tray offers contain 100

That's great! I can get loads of these for free from my local fruit & veg shop  :D
