rhubarb crowns & asparagus crowns planting tips please

HI there , have just took on a allotment for the first time . Only a small one 8m x 10m due to having very little spare time due to work i have managed to dig half of it and hope to complete this task before Christmas . I have just ordered 3 rhubarb crowns  & 4 asparagus crowns anyone got any planting tips  :?

Not sure about asparagus but put plenty of compost in the hole for the rhubarb.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Asparagus is very long lived as well so situate them where they won't get shaded much or trampled on. The roots get very large so allow them about 1 sq ft each, more if possible. Get out all the weeds you can, enrich the soil well, add a bit of lime to soil and some sand. Dig the planting hole, mound a handful of sand in the centre (about 3" below ground level) and set the crown on that and spread out the roots, then fill with soil, heeling in as you go. Mark with a small stick so you know where it is later. It'll take a while for the first foliage so be patient, and keep the bed weeded.
