Help please. My winter cauliflowers were attacked a bit by the pigeons at the start of the year. I stopped this with a mesh cover. However, some of the leaves are brownish at the edges. I don't see any signs of infestation. Should I cut off the brown leaves where possible or just leave them?

Hi. I have a lot of brown outer leaves on all my overwintering brassicas this year. I’m sure it’s frost damage. Luckily my cabbages, PSB and cauliflowers seem to be fine underneath the leaves. I would guess yours would be the same.

Same here.. mine were doing fine until we had that frost at the weekend, now most bottom leaves have beige/brown tips.

Thanks for your replies. Should I cut off the badly frost-bitten leaves. Never had this before and I have been growing winter cabbages for about five years. They do get savaged by the pigeons though unless I cover them with netting
